Finished: Red Call the midwife blanket

When you think of baby blankets you usually think of pale pink, blue, or yellow. I’m a fan of the more non-traditional look so have decided to make some baby sized blanket in red, green, and bright blue. This pattern is super simple after the first few rows and works up quick. I found the yarn at my local craft store and used roughly 2.5 balls. This makes a stroller sized blanket but you can adapt the pattern to make it larger. I did a simple border to finish it off.

Finished: English Rose Blanket

I’m in love with the Call the Midwife blanket. Obsessed. It’s the sweetest baby blanket and lends itself well to all sorts of colours and yarns. This pattern is relatively easy to do and after a few rows it just repeats. Ideal for those Netflix and Crochet marathons. I found a bunch of soft yarn at my local craft store and practically brought all the colours. Over the next few months I’ll be making a bunch of these blankets to sell on Etsy.

The first one finished is the pink one. Love this so much. This is prefect for a stroller sized blanket and is soft and feminine.

Finished: Pink Baby Blanket

I’ve just finished this lovely pink and purple baby blanket! The yarn is from Ice Yarns and in a style called Dancing Baby and is 100% acrylic and soft. I love how bright the colours are and how they crochet up. This pattern is corner to corner which gives the great diagonal line effect across the blanket. To finish I did a different border than Continue reading Finished: Pink Baby Blanket

Finished: Blue Baby Blanket

I picked up this yarn at the local craft store and instantly loved how soft it was. It’s an acrylic/nylon blend and feel like a cloud. I could only get 4 balls of this yarn so decided to make a baby blanket. The pattern I used was corner to corner. This allows me to control how much yarn i use as you work it up in diagonal lines. Finished: Juicy Fruity Baby Blanket

I found this awesome coloured yarn at Lincraft and instantly loved the tropical colours! It’s hard to find a mutli coloured yarn that isn’t blues, pinks, or rainbow. I decided to make a baby blanket which would be fun and practical. Pattern used is corner to corner and I went up 45 rows before decreasing. This blanket measures about 87 cm squared. To finish I single crochet into each hole to form a border.

Finished: Cream Baby Blanket

I recently finished this gorgeous baby blanket. I kept it gender neutral and used cream with a light yellow trim. Patten is my usual corner to corner with a 6mm hook. The yarn is by Stylecraft and is called cream and lemon. I used 4 balls of the cream and only a few meters of the yellow. It’s approximately 90cm x 90cm. After I finished the square I single crochet around the border in the same cream. This gave it a really nice edge and allowed for an even yellow border. You could continue the yellow border for a few more rounds, but love the current effect so I finished it after only one round. This took about 20 hours to make.

Finished: Two Baby Blankets

Oh wow, they are finally done. After weeks of procrastinating I finally finished both the blankets! I really didn’t like the yarn used on the more pinker blanket, it was too fine and not as soft as the other one. And somehow still have about 100gms of it left! Anyways, they are both done and are now awaiting the arrival of their precious new owners. I’m contemplating adding a border around them, especially the more gender neutral one, but will wait until the baby’s are born to make my final decision.
