The other night I was searching the web for a new interesting pattern to try. I came across this youtube tutorial by Yolanda Soto Lopez and had to give it a go. I love the lacey look of this pattern and was happy to find it was really really simple. Only a 4 row repeat! This is great as I hate reading line by line patterns. I looked for some yarn in my stash and grabbed Super Soft by Lincraft. This yarn is amazingly soft and easy to work with. I used a 6mm hook as it was a Continue reading Finished: Blue Lace Scarf→
Scarfs are so quick to make compared to blankets!! I found this lovely wool a local wool shop and had to get it. I’ll post a review of it soon, but it was great to work with and gave the scarf a real handmade look. I used the same pattern as the purple scarf as I Continue reading Finished: Blue Scarf→
I’ve had this yarn for a while now and was unsure what to make with it. Initially I thought it would make a good doily but couldn’t find a nice pattern so it sat in my stash. I recently rediscovered Revelry and have since spent hours and hours looking at crochet patterns. I came across the Crochet Unforgettable Scarf by bobwilson123 and it was super easy to understand. I can’t read patterns too well, but this one was good! You can use any weight yarn as it’s just a two row repeat! I worked with a 4mm hook and set to work. It came together really fast and was simple enough to be able to crochet without thinking. The wool looks super awesome, like it was make for this pattern. After weaving the ends it was done! I was going to block it but I don’t think it needs it. It’s the perfect length to wrap up in! This pattern is super easy and I can’t wait to try it in all sorts of wool!
Another spiral done! This one also took months to make as it was also made with wool. It’s sooo heavy! I used the same pattern for the 4 colour spiral blanket, but used two solid and 2 multicolored yarns. I wasn’t sure if this would look any good, but in the end I loved the Continue reading Finished: Blue Spiral→
It’s done! I love this blanket so much! Such a simple blanket to make but the yarn really makes it. I used a 7mm hook with Colours of Love yarn to create the bulky boho feeling. I added a fringe to the edge instead of leaving it plain. I love how soft the yarn feels and how the Continue reading Finished: Boho Mandala Blanket→
This yarn is awesome! This is multicolored yarn without the obvious pattern to it. The colour changes are slow and subtle. The yarn is super soft and slightly chunky, with a recommended hook size of 6.5. I’m using a 7mm hook for the correct tension. This yarn is premium Continue reading Yarn Review: Papatya Colors of Love→
A couple of weeks ago I was playing around the internet and found this awesome site! Amazing colour combinations which finally featured a gorgeous rainbow! 24 awesome colours!!! I quickly ordered my pack and started to think about the design. Ripple, granny squares, granny stripe, solid squares, corner to corner. So Continue reading In Progress: Giant Rainbow Blanket→
These colours remind me of all the colours of the forest and sky and work so well together! The bright green really stands out as the dominate colour and the grey really adds another dimension. Adding cream or white helps the colours pop and would be great for a border. These colours would work well for a modern baby blanket or throw blanket.
Rainbows are the best! This is a different take on the old traditional concept of the rainbow. The colours used are warm without being too bright, and are ideal for a range of projects. Add white or black inbetween stripes or for the border and you’ll have yourself a great coloured blanket!
