I’ve just finished this lovely pink and purple baby blanket! The yarn is from Ice Yarns and in a style called Dancing Baby and is 100% acrylic and soft. I love how bright the colours are and how they crochet up. This pattern is corner to corner which gives the great diagonal line effect across the blanket. To finish I did a different border than Continue reading Finished: Pink Baby Blanket→
I’d decided to make some blankets to sell at the local craft markets. There isn’t many people selling crochet items here, probably because it’s somewhat tropical. However, the baby blankets i’ve made as gifts have been well received, so I thought I’d give it a go! Continue reading Finished: Baby Blanket→
I picked up this yarn at the local craft store and instantly loved how soft it was. It’s an acrylic/nylon blend and feel like a cloud. I could only get 4 balls of this yarn so decided to make a baby blanket. The pattern I used was corner to corner. This allows me to control how much yarn i use as you work it up in diagonal lines. I was commissioned to make this beautiful dreamcatcher to hang over a cute baby girl’s bed. The theme was pink and gold to match her room. Finding the metallic gold thread turned out to be the hardest part and spent a few days trying to locate some without Continue reading Dreamcatcher – Pink/Gold→
I’ve decided to start early with my Christmas crafts this year. My local craft store was having 40% off storewide so I took advantage of this and grabbed a few supplies. Making the wreath is fairly easy but took a lot longer than I thought. All up this took about 8 hours. I had some variegated Christmas yarn from last year’s sales that I’ve been hanging onto. I simply made a rectangle of single crochets. I made it slightly smaller than the wreath so it would pull tight. I just slip stitched the ends together to make a loop and slip stitched around the wreath shape. It was nice a tight by the time I made my way around the entire shape. With summer on its way it is getting too hot to work on large blankets, then I remembered Dream Catchers! I had made a few a while back and remembered how fun and fairly simple they were. I found some rattan hoops at the local craft store and Continue reading Dreamcatcher – Blue/Green→
It’s done! It’s an amazing feeling to see something completed after dying the wool and crocheting it into something. This blanket was an experiment to see how the spiral pattern would look using multicoloured yarn. Some people on Instagram Continue reading Finished: Spiral Blanket 1→
Finally finished this awesome blanket. I started way too many other projects and this one got missed for a while. The yarn used is Stylecraft and the colour recipe is here. The pattern is super easy and can be worked on while watching tv as it repeats Continue reading Finished: Retro Rainbow v stitch→
After finding this simple pattern for hexagons I just had to try it! I had a whole bunch of different shades of pink to use and went for a girly style blanket.
After making my nana blanket I was in desperate need for colour! Still on my 12 point ripple making spree I decided to make a blue/green blanket out of my Ice Yarn. I loved how it worked up in the previous blankets and was curious how it would look in only a Continue reading Finished: 12 point ripple 5→
